We try to imagine what it must have been like within the moments surrounding JFK's assassination. Those few ticking seconds where a nation’s twisting grasp on its place in the world flipped our collective insides like a sudden bend on a wooden roller-coaster. A few microseconds prior we were the well scrubbed center of the universe. A few microseconds later we had lost our anchor and were in a free-fall trying to make sense of it all, still cheering and smiling in a heartbeat of disbelief. We feel everything we know slipping through our fingers. We are weightless.

This short doc for Nike Sportsware focuses on a lighthearted look at the "drive" put forth by Abdoulaye on a daily basis. In real life, Abdoulaye is driven by the goal of being a successful soccer player whilst maintaining relationships with friends and family. My job was to capture this "drive" in a cinematic way that could tell a story both timeless, and relatable.

"Back to School, Forward with Focus" features mindfulness educator Andres Gonzales. Andres works in Baltimore City Public Schools teaching kids practices that lead to the development of empathy, compassion, love, balance, and harmony.

The opportunity to direct this spot immediately struck a chord with me because I was never specifically taught how to focus my mind in the classroom...as a result, I quickly got branded with the "ADD" label. For a long time, I saw myself as 'less than', struggling in waves with various ADD medications and identity crisis' along the way. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to work with an ADD specialist in my 20's and was able to overcome a lot of the mental struggles that I faced throughout my life as a result of being labeled as an "ADD kid". One of the biggest cures for me to feel a natural sense of focus and presence has been meditation, so when I got wind of Andre's story and mission from Variable's EP Tyler Ginter, I was motivated to draw awareness towards it through Gap's global platform. In June 2007, the late Academy Award-winning director, Bert Salzman, uploaded a series of six ‘Mindcalming Meditations’ to his YouTube account. This particular video took inspiration from Bert’s third ‘Mindcalming Meditation’ entitled ‘Slow Down’…my favorite of all six. The length, titles, words, and music from Bert’s original video have not been altered. I just had some slow-motion footage laying around and felt it was quite pleasant to watch at moments throughout Bert's original video.

"Green" is a visual meditation film for those who seek calm in the midst of their busy lives. Whether the film is a looping screensaver in the background, or a means of focus in the foreground, the intent is to provide a little massage for the soul.

This film is a chronologically ordered documentation of a location scout for a Car commercial in Xinjiang, China.

On a personal note, People's Park is the location where my fiancé and I had our first date in April 2017.

"Flatface" is a personal project made in collaboration with Mike Schneider, professional fingerboarder and owner of Flatface.

As a sucker for euphoria, I was fascinated when I stumbled upon Mike's YouTube channel a couple months ago (MikeSchneider). I had no clue fingerboarding still existed, and here is this 23-year-old guy who not only has a successful fingerboarding business, but is (I'd argue) the best fingerboarder in the world. Upon entering Mike’s world, the fingerboards, skateboards, ramps, fresh air and laid back atmosphere transported me back to the timeless days of my youth. This film is the result of Mike kindly showing a couple friends and I around his hometown over a beautiful May weekend. The goal was simply to fuse fun, fingerboarding, skateboarding, and filming for a three to five minute short film about Mike’s company, Flatface. The first four goals were achieved, however the whole time thing ceased to exist from the moment I entered Mike's Flatface dimension, resulting in a film that is a collection of curiosity, observations, and new experiences.
