This post is a little outdated but I am just getting around to updating the blog. It’s been a crazy past few weeks with shoots in Orlando, Norway, and New Orleans all back to back with not a day off. Right now I’m writing this post from Venice, Louisiana, AKA hicktown USA.

Anyway, the “Curtis” video was a nice little one day shoot with director “Wuzgood” in Orlando, Florida. It was great collaborating with Wuzgood again because we got our start together in film school. I shot some of my first videos/projects ever with him so it was awesome to get back down in O-town with him and the OG filmschool crew. Overall, great time, some cool setups, but unfortunately it monsooned halfway through the day so we had to shoot the remainder of the video with no lighting and make up an alternate storyline. At the end of the day the client was very and I think we did a good job working around the rain. Looking forward to getting back to Florida hopefully later this month. This video is a combination of footage shot over the 53 day span while I was shooting the feature documentary “Straight to DVD,” and the live concert shot in NYC at Hammerstein Ballroom.

I was very stoked to collaborate with Michael Thelin. Michael directed Paramore’s “The Final Riot” DVD which went Gold and did a great job shooting the live show in NYC. I think the combination of the live performance, and “on the road” antics really gives viewers a great glimpse of what All Time Low is.

I will be attending the premier in LA at the Henry Fonda Theater on May 10th. This will be my first official movie premier so I am very excited to be there. Just wrapped a quick shoot outside of Washington, DC with good friend/director Doug Martin. I shot some of my first videos in film school with Doug so it was a pleasure to work with him again. On this shoot we shot with my Canon 7D kit and Dougs Canon 5D. Overall, very smooth shot, we shot 11 acoustic songs from many different angles. I stayed on my 105mm f2.5 for the majority of the shoot and am continuously amazed with the sharpness of that lens. Below are a few stills I took with my iPhone during the shoot.

A couple of weeks ago, Next Level Pictures was hired to shoot a promo for healthy living expert Pooja Mottl of Mindfully21. This was a great shoot to kick off Next Level Pictures and an absolute pleasure to direct. Khalid killed it with the lighting, as well as David Ellis on Steadicam.
