SHOT – We The Kings featuring Demi Lovato – Live/Lifestyle Music Video

About a week ago I was asked to direct a live/lifestyle video for We The Kings featuring disney star Demi Lovato by S-Curve records. Last night we shot the video at House of Blues in Hollywood, CA. We shot the video with 4x Canon 7D’s, a Panasonic HPX-170, and a couple Flip HD cameras thrown around in random areas for crowd perspectives. The 7D’s pulled through flawlessly. Fortunately the song for the video we shot didn’t have any strobes so we were able to avoid all of the funky 7D shutter issues. Also, big up’s to my camera operators. My good friend Andrew Brinkhaus who operated on this shoot, recommended 2 guys; Keegan Uhl and Matt Irwin. All 3 of those guys killed it. At the end of the shoot I found out that Matt’s dad is Mark Irwin ASC…I was so stoked on this being that he shot some of my favorite films growing up (Dumb and Dumber, Old School, There’s Something About Mary..to name a few.) My good friend Corey Jennings also came out to operate on this shoot. Overall, I am very happy with the outcome. The video should be live within the next few weeks.
